Saffia wearing Annice - with fish!

Saffia wearing Annice - with fish!

This week was set at Northpoint where we featured 7Seas Fishing, and Saffia chose an outfit that went with the fish!

The wonderful wearable fish pets that 7Seas Fishing rewards its fishers with, that is.  You can see some here in the photograph with Saffia – the special blue Meta Makeover fish, and the fun Red Flying Fish, complete with bi-plane – not to mention the LOLcatfish.

“I knew I was going to be wearing some fish in the programme,” says Saffia, “and so I wanted to find an outfit that, while stylish, would be subdued enough to show off the fish.  I knew I was in the studio for the first part, interviewing Jen and Secen Shikami – so it needed a system skirt.  And I wanted something practical too, in case I started fishing!”

So the outfit that Saffia chose was Annice in black and grey from Neferia Abel of Ivalde.

This comes in a variety of colours,” says Saffia, “and I love the white/black and pink/maroon combinations.  But for this show, the black/grey was perfect – so that all the fish whizzing round me could be plainly seen – but when I took the fish off, I was still beautifully dressed!”

Saffia points out the fine detailing on the skirt that is so characteristic of Ivalde designs.

“And Nef has added a jacket layer to get that lovely high waist,” Saffia adds.  “I love that – and I also love the little sculpties for each arm, which beautifully captures the effect of the sleeves being pushed up.”

After all, you don’t want to get your sleeves wet while you’re fishing!

Saffia in Ginette by Ivalde

Saffia in Abela by Ivalde

This week’s show came from Quiet Island – but Saffia’s outfit was anything but Quiet!

“I wanted to go with something a little unusual,” said Saffia, “and so once again I turned to the new Boutique range from Neferia Abel of Ivalde.”

Neferia says, “The Ivalde Boutique collection is especially for the discriminating fashionista looking for more daring and avant garde designs. Expect unique and different textures, stunning silhouettes, and fashion as an art form in the Ivalde Boutique collection. In other words, expect the unexpected!”

This time, Saffia chose the deather dress, Abela.

The description on Ivalde’s site says: “Abela is a walk on the wild side! Inspired by the natural textures of feathers, snake skin and camouflage, Abela is a savage ensemble! A body suit in camo is cinched by a snakeskin bustier and softened with a feather skirt. A pair of fingerless gloves complete the look. Let loose the inner animal with Abela!”

“I liked the idea of a contrast with this lovely beach house,” says Saffia.  “It’s a fun outfit to wear – and I thought the contrast between Quiet and Wild was an interesting one!”

Luises Home on Quiet Island

Luise's Home on Quiet Island

The latest episode of Meta Makeover is now available on the Meta Makeover website at SLCN – and can also be downloaded free of charge from iTunes.

Luise Docherty has a home on a beautiful Open Space sim.   She created a beautiful island – and a lovely home.  But she felt that the house was hastily built when she first had the island – and that the areas within the house felt disjointed, not working with each other.

So we asked LaDonna Upshaw of Sweet Romance Furniture to help us – and you’ll be able to see on the show whether she suceeded!

And you’ll also be able to see LaDonna’s designs in the Meta Makeover studios exhibition hall – as she is currently having an exhibition of her work there as a back-up to the show – along with an exhibition of 7Seas Fishing, which will be featured in our next show!

Luise has a home on a beautiful Open Space sim, where she and her brother Roberto Viking have created a beautiful island – and a lovely home.  But she felt that the house was hastily built when she first had the island – and that the areas within the house felt disjointed, not working with each other.

So we asked LaDonna Upshaw of Sweet Romance Furniture to help us – and you’ll be able to see on tonight’s show whether she suceeded!

Luises Home on Quiet Island

Luise's Home on Quiet Island

This week our show was to come to you from Luise Docherty’s beautiful home on  Quiet Island with Donna Upshaw of Sweet Romance Furniture making it over.

Unfortunately, ten minutes into the show, there was a massive powercut at our real life studios in Melbourne, Australia.  By the time we were able to resume, it was too late for the show to be broadcast.  We therefore decided to postpone this week’s show until next week, Tuesday 18th November – when we hope that some of you will be able to join us in the studio.

I think that people who did join us there this week would agree that they had a lot of fun despite the show not going out – those stranded in world all teleported to Quiet Island, and we had a terrific party there!

Another advantage of postponing the show is that it means you will have an extra week to see LaDonna’s designs in the Meta Makeover studios exhibition hall – as she is currently having an exhibition of her work there as a back-up to the show.

So make sure to join us for a viewing party at the Meta Makeover studios on Northpoint on Tuesday 18th November – and remember, there’s a special free gift for everyone who comes to the studio!

The show starts at 2pm SLT, but you should be there by 1.45pm to make sure of getting a seat.
