Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 8am SLT on the Castle Rooftop in Caer Blanco

Join Zealot Benmergui for a reading of The Man Who Collected Poe by Robert Bloch and They’re Made Out of Meat by Terry Bisson

This will be streamed over the audio channel in the sim with Lord BardHaven present for some conversation before and after the event.

Lord Zealot Benmergui, Baron of BardHaven, Ruffian King of Caledon, Last Defender of the Dark Hope, Keeper of the Shadow that Sings and Magus d’Calamatia Majora was born at the age of 6 in a speeding carriage somewhere on the Italian/Swiss border.

His parents, a morbidly sentimental English debutante with a taste for the intellectual and the excommunicated and an elderly Italian nobleman with a weakness for somber ladies and erotic pastry, died in a tragic Mongoose stampede when he was still at school at Eton, leaving him the only heir to the vast holdings of BardHaven.

Embarking on a successful career as an international businessman, adventurer, evangelist and agent provocateur, the young Baron soon was a familiar face and community leader in some of the more unusual and disgraceful circles in Europe, Asia and Latin America before returning to the family seat in Mayfair at the legendary House of Three Graces.

Since returning to Caledon, he has become well known as a writer, fashion reviewer, gothic savant, betrayer of innocent strumpets and torch singer performing under the name Miss Monique Borgia, the Iron Chanteuse.

The Monastery and Ghost Ship on Caer Blaco

The Monastery and Ghost Ship on Caer Blaco

That’s right – we’re filming today at 2pm (Tuesday 21st October) on our wonderful Halloween sim of Caer Blanco.

But there will be a viewing party in the Meta Makeover studios on Northpoint -and everyone is very welcome!

In fact, there’ll be a special free gift for everyone who attends the show.  And afterwards, there’ll be a chance to talk to the Meta Makeover team, and meet our designers too.

So what do we have for you on this week’s show?

This is our special Halloween Sim that will be featured in the last week’s episode of Meta Makeover as well. Caer Blanco is a special sim, created specially for Halloween by Second Life’s top designers.  There is a fully furnished haunted castle, a witch’s cottage, a ghostly ship and a ruined monastery to explore – and more!

This week we’ll be taking a full look at the upper floors of the castle – and we’ll have a few surprises for you too!

Saffia in Margot on Caer Blanco

Saffia in Margot on Caer Blanco

This week and last week’s show both come from the specially created Halloween sim of Caer Blanco – which you can read all about here – or in the latest issue of Prim Perfect.  And Saffia wanted a special outfit for exploring this uniquely dark sim.

“I wanted to go dramatically black and long,” says Saffia, “but at the same time, I wanted something that wasn’t too full.”

So in the end, she went with one of her all-time favourite dresses from  IvaldeMargot.

“I adore this dress,” says Saffia, “and not just because it was originally made just for me!  It’s elegant, and moves so beautifully.  Obviously, my choice for these shows was the black version.  But I didn’t wear the fur collar or cuffs, beautiful as they are, because I wanted the stark black look.”

And does it work?

“I don’t know what the viewers will think,” says Saffia, “but several of the designers who appeared on the show were very eager to know exactly which Ivalde dress it was!”

Vienna James Concert on Caer Blanco

Vienna James Concert on Caer Blanco

Today October 24th we have not one but TWO exciting events on our amazing Halloween sim of Caer Blanco – Vienna James, and a second Gypsy Ball!

Vienna James Live – at 12 noon SLT
Vienna sings sexy, sultry then sweet,
Playing the vixen, then playing the saint,
Dancing before you in black then in white,
Music that takes you from darkness to light.

Vienna (aka ‘V’) has been singing in choirs since she was 10 years old and, inspired by local homeboy musician Billy Joel, V started writing her own original tunes when she was 16.
She often fooled NY club owners into thinking she was 18,  letting her get on stage in between acts and perform some of her tunes.  Influenced by Eva Cassidy, now Vienna enjoys singing to her favorite artists – Garbage, Alanis Morrisette, Evanescense, Tori Amos, and classic tunes from the 80s.  And maybe, just maybe, she’ll pull out an original tune just to throw you off.

Gypsy Ball in Caer Blanco

Next we take a look around the island and see the wonderful ghost ship created by Julia Hathor of Creative Fantasy. You’ll also have a chance to admire the beautiful setting – created by Marmottina Taurog of Green and Wild.
