Meta Makeover studio

Meta Makeover studio

That’s right – we’re filming today at 2pm in the Meta Makeover studios on Northpoint -and everyone is very welcome!  In fact, there’ll be a special free gift for everyone who attends the show.  It’s the second of our new weekly shows – and this week, we’re going to take a indepth look at our new studio complex!

Designed by Jeremey Ryan of Barefoot Homes & Designs and Dellybean North of True North Designs, while the grounds were landscaped by Anhayla Lycia of Treesong Designs, this complex offers much, much more than just a fabulous Art Deco studio.  We’ll be showing the Exhibition Hall, where we are still featuring a display on the Isle of Wyrms (from last week’s show), and fabulous terraced cafe, and the beach where all the busy Meta makeover people can chill out …

Then there’s the area where we are holding concerts, and, last but certainly not least, the Meta Makeover offices!

Eating cookies and waiting for the show to begin...

Last week, our Meta Makeover show came from the Isle of Wyrms, where Gwen Carillon of Elements in Design and Maxwell Graf of Rustica made over a dragon’s cave.  It was streamed live into our new studios on Northpoint, and some of the dragons came over to watch it there.

Darleez de Cuir, our studio manager, was on hand to make sure that everyone enjoyed the experience – and took some pictures too – including of these young dragons having a snack while waiting for the show.

Everyone can find a suitable seat in the new Meta Makeover studio!

Everyone can find a suitable seat in the new studio!

From now on, Meta Makeover will be recorded weekly on Tuesdays  at 2pm SLT- sometimes in the studio, and sometimes on location.

But every week, no matter where the show is, you’ll be able to see it streamed live to the Meta Makeover studios in Northpoint – and afterwards the Meta makeover team and the designers will join the audience for chat – and a bit of a party!

And we believe that our new studio will be able to accommodate all our guests – no matter what their size and shape!

Saffia in Ivalde

Inside the Dragon's Cave: Saffia in Ivalde

This week, we were making over a spectacular dragon’s cave – courtesy of Maxwell Graf and Gwen Carillon, our designers.  And pretty spectacular it was too!

So what WAS Saffia wearing in this week’s show?

It was a pair of smart dark grey trousers and a rather nice black top – but did anyone recognise the outfit?

It was, as ever, Ivalde – but this show came with a real twist!

“I took the different elements from different outfits,” explains Saffia.

“Initially, my plan was to wear Ivalde’s Dis.  That’s a gorgeous outfit, with amazing embroidery across the breast and lovely long flowing sleeves.  Really spectacular!  And I also thought a dress out of Nordic legends would be very appropriate for a fiery dragins cave!

“But then I thought again.  After all, in presenting the show, I was going to be scrambling over rocks – and then sitting down on a comfortable couch with the designers to discuss all the work they’ve done here.  It seemed to me that I needed something simple, but dramatic, that would allow me to be active right up until the point when I metamorph … well, you’ll have to watch the show to see that!”

So Saffia checked through her Ivalde outfits in her inventory – and finally came up with two different outfits!

“For the trousers I took the dark grey pair in the Kajsa outfit,” she says.  “I thought about wearing that top too – it’s a lovely snuggly red jersey knit, making a sweater/wrap dress – almost but not quite a sloppy joe!  But what decided me against that was that it’s more a winter outfit and we’re not there yet!

“Instead I took two elements of a really different outfit – the Eirny.  This was one of the outfits that Neferai Abel created for her spring show – in its true form it’s a sassy eighties outfit with a multi-layered mini skirt.  I took the top and the bolero jacket – and they made a stunning combination with the trousers.”

The other elements that Saffia brought in where her much-loved Callie Cline signature boots, and a funky belt from Gwen Carillon as well as one of Gwen’s lovely jewellery sets.  This one was the Circular Logic Set – a Second Life version of a set that Gwen makes in real life.

“It all added to the black and silver overall effect!” says Saffia.

And several people have asked about the new hair as well.  It’s a style called Blake from House of Heart.

The Interview

Isle of Wyrms: The Interview

Make sure that you join us today for a very exciting Meta Makeover!

In the first of our new weekly shows, we will be making over a dragon’s cave on the Isle of Wyrms with the aid of our designers, Gwen Carillon of Elements in Design and Maxwell Graf of Rustica.  And I think you’ll agree that what they have done in the cave is absolutely amazing!

We’ll be talking to Gwen and Max about their work, and we’ll also have an interview with one of the stunningly beautiful wyrms (that’s a dragon), Ragitake Takakura.

The show will be filmed on the Isle of Wyrms, but it will be streamed live – and you can watch it at our new Northpoint studio.  There will be a special gift bag for all who attend, and a party after for all who attend.
